A cool compositional element in Burnside is the key change that happens midway through the tune. It goes from A to E and eventually back to A. From the I to the V. This is a time-tested idea from classical music. Bach did this often, for example.

I think these modulations from the key of A to the key of E, and back again, are rather elegant. The first note of the new key of E - the 5th string harmonic in measure 42 (the last note of the measure) - is important; make sure you hit it cleanly. That's a reminder to myself, as I don't always get it exactly right either!!!
